Why We Built FileWorks
FileWorks was created to solve a persistent frustration on the web: everyday file tasks—like merging two PDFs, resizing an image, or creating an archive—should never require uploading confidential documents to remote third-party servers, creating mandatory accounts, or paying expensive monthly subscriptions.
Our Core Engineering Principles
-
✓
100% Client-Side Computing: Your files never travel across the internet during processing. File bytes are read, transformed, and downloaded directly inside your browser memory sandbox.
-
✓
Zero Accounts or Barriers: No registration, passwords, email captures, or paywalls. Every tool is immediately ready to work.
-
✓
Transparent Sustainability: FileWorks is kept free through clean, compliant Google AdSense display advertising, rather than selling user data or hiding features behind premium tiers.
The Technology Behind FileWorks
Modern web browsers have evolved into full-fledged computing platforms. By combining the HTML5 File API, WebAssembly, HTML5 Canvas rasterization, and robust open-source JavaScript parsing engines, FileWorks runs complex file manipulations directly in device RAM:
📄 PDF Manipulation
Powered by pdf-lib and PDF.js, our tools read raw PDF binary streams, copy vector pages, manipulate orientation dictionaries, and re-encode object streams directly in memory.
🖼️ Image Processing
Utilizing hardware-accelerated HTML5 Canvas APIs, images are decoded, scaled with bicubic interpolation, and transcoded between JPEG, PNG, and modern WebP formats in real time.
🗜️ Archive Compression
Built on JSZip, archives are packed and decompressed using DEFLATE level 6 algorithms with built-in path validation to neutralize path traversal risks (Zip Slip).
Project Ownership & Development
FileWorks is developed and maintained by the AetherKube team. We are independent software developers dedicated to building lightweight, privacy-respecting utilities for mobile and web platforms. In addition to this web platform, FileWorks is available as a native Android utility on Google Play.
If you encounter an issue, have a feature suggestion, or have a question about how our tools handle specific formats, please contact our support team at aetherkube@gmail.com. We review all feedback directly.
Our Commitment to Data Safety
Because our software operates in your browser's local sandbox, we do not maintain a backend database of uploaded files, we do not store customer records, and we have no access to the contents of your documents or images. When you close your browser tab, all temporary memory objects (Blob URLs) are immediately garbage-collected by your browser.

Editorial Integrity, Security Audits & Ongoing Roadmap
At AetherKube, we treat web file processing not as a transactional commodity, but as a discipline requiring strict adherence to open standards, transparent data practices, and technical rigor. Every article in our Learning Center undergoes an engineering review against live code behavior, ensuring that our technical specifications, ISO citations, and algorithmic descriptions accurately reflect how data is manipulated in browser memory.
Our ongoing roadmap focuses on deepening client-side document intelligence. We are actively refining our in-browser inspectors to surface deeper structural insights—including embedded font metrics, color profile gamuts (sRGB vs Display P3), and PDF cross-reference table health. We welcome constructive user feedback, feature recommendations, and security vulnerability disclosures from the global developer and productivity community via our dedicated email desk at aetherkube@gmail.com.
